The Life Science Council

The Life Science Advisory Council (LSAC), chaired by Lord David Prior, convenes biannual meetings in Spring and Autumn to discuss and shape the priorities for the Cambridge cluster’s Life Sciences Strategy. Council members have been specifically selected to provide a wide range of views, spanning CUHP hospital and university partners, research institutes, government and industry. These meetings serve as a platform for diverse opinions to converge and ensures alignment of regional efforts with national priorities.

The role of the council is to provide supportive critique and enablement of the Life Sciences Strategy as it evolves. This ensures its effectiveness in raising Cambridge’s profile, driving innovation, collaboration, an increased flow of informed financing and sustainable growth.

Guest speakers feature routinely in council meetings to share progress in areas such as ongoing research themes or infrastructure development. These discussions take place in presentation, panel and breakout group formats, allowing ample opportunity to reflect on the evolution of projects related to CUHP’s strategic pillars.
